It's official. I have retired my Family FotoFun Friday meme. It never really caught on like I hoped and no one seemed to miss it when I stopped. As you can see I've rearranged my top tabs to include I ♥ Faces, which is the photo meme I am participating in now.

Since my birthday is on Sunday, I am posting pics from my birthday. I really don't like talking about how old I am (although I am younger than Harriet!! LOL!), but obviously this was a big party for a big year...and my oldest child is nearly 16 yrs old...so do the math! I think I looked pretty darn good on my bday...and it's all been downhill since!!!!!!!! So I guess we can say I was truly over the hill!!

FFFF #21: Anything April

OMG~ I am a total slacker and forgot to post Family FotoFun Friday. I remembered it earlier today, but I got busy. Please forgive me (if anyone is even reading!) I am posting 2 red couch pics from China. Let me explain this ritual a little bit. All American's adopting from China must go through Guangzhou because the US Consulate is there. Most families stay at the famous White Swan hotel on Shaiman Island in GZ. The White Swan has several of these red couches down near the lobby and it's tradition to get all the babes from your travel group together for a pic on one of these sofas. Dori was not too pleased with our group's first attempt and I had to hold her up on the back of the sofa. This is one of the pics where my head doesn't show. I requested that we do another photo a few days later so that Dori could get on the couch. You can see how thrilled the girls are! LOL! It's a special tradition that many families (I am sure mostly mamas) look forward to.Now is your turn. Share a photo or 2. You have until Thurs, April 9th to post it.

I dug out a few baby pics today. The first is with my 4 older siblings, I am guessing that I am around 9-12 mos. This was the first time that I saw the middle picand I'd guess I am closer to 2 yrs old. The third is my favorite baby pic. I am pictured with my Grandma Doris (my daughter's namesake) and Grandpa. This pic is actually framed and on my dresser.

I picked this theme because I got a NEW laptop this week!!! I have only used it a few days, but I love it. It's so much faster than my old laptop. I bought it as a gift to myself to celebrate Custom Blog Design's first birthday.You can see my old laptop in the background of the top pic. This new one is so nice and WIDE!

It's already past 10 on Friday morning and I haven't posted FFFF yet. I haven't even come up with a theme. I did get a suggestion from Jim to post FFFF on Thursday night so that people can participate in a timely manner, but then it would be FFFTh and that just doesn't fit. Besides, people have a WEEK to participate...so I am leaving it on Friday. BUT I am looking to Jim for inspiration for this week's theme...and I've come up with boats. Here are some pics from Pirates Day for the local sailing club about 2.5 yrs ago. We participated in and won the cardboard boat race.Then Eric took the boys sailing.This is one of my most fav boat related pics. This was taken in 1997 on grandpa's sailboat. I have to say that Eric LOVES sailing. In fact he has his own sailing blog. Eric's dad owns a sailboat and a mooring in Milwaukee. I have many more boat pics that I could post. I just need to dig them out and scan them.

FFFF #12: Chinese Zodiac

This week's FFFF is going to be a little different. I want you to do a post about your Chinese Zodiac sign, the traits of that animal, and if you think you resemble that. The Chinese Zodiac is said to be very accurate, so it will be fun to see if you agree in your case. You may include a photo of yourself or your animal sign (I won't even require that it be a pic you took!) You can find out which animal year you are by looking at this site. If you click the pic of the animal it will give you a detailed description of your sign. You can find a brief description at this site (click animal names right below the zodiac) Please note: If you are born in Jan or in Feb, you aren't necessarily the animal posted for your year. The Chinese calendar is different than than ours. That first site I listed gives exact dates.

I am a horse (...although real horses scare me!)

People born in the Year of the Horse are popular. They are cheerful, skillful with money, and perceptive, although they sometimes talk too much. The are wise, talented, good with their hands, and sometimes have a weakness for members of the opposite sex. They are impatient and hot-blooded about everything except their daily work. They like entertainment and large crowds. They are very independent and rarely listen to advice. They are most compatible with Tigers, Dogs, and Sheep.

I think there are some truths to that description. Actually it's all very accurate, but I don't think I am hot-blooded. Or not so much anymore. I am definitely impatient, independent, cheerful, perceptive, and I talk too much!! If weakness for the opposite sex can be defined as a flirt...then I am guilty!
