Florida Spring Break Recap

WOW! Our trip to Florida was AMAZING! We stayed at Maravilla Condos in Miramar Beach which is in the Destin area. This is a GREAT complex. My favorite part is that beach set-up service in included in the rental fees. That set-up includes 2 comfy lounge chairs and a large umbrella. This allowed me to stay at the beach long hours and not get sunburned. I burn easily, so this was great. My son got burned pretty bad on his face the first day, so we got some thicker sunscreen and made sure to really cover him up. Those spray on sunscreens are handy, but you don't really get a good application! We mostly hung around the condo & beach the entire week. We took nightly sunset strolls along the beach or boardwalk. We ate at 2 nearby restaurants of which Captain Dave's was my favorite! We also hit up some local thrift stores a few mornings that were too chilly for the beach.

I just went through my trip photos and I picked 58 that I wanted to share here. No way am I going to take the time for 60! Many of the ones are share are on Instagram.  Check them out. I am going to go weed through my favorites right now and post a handful below.

That was tough to narrow them down. I took so many sunset shots. I just can't get enough! We came home right before the winter storm that dumped a foot of snow on us. I don't mind...it's temporary!

  3. Isn't a winter getaway the best? You all look so Florida relaxed. Gorgeous pictures. What will you do with the free time generated by eliminating the posting of two shots?

  6. Welcome home! I totally agree about the spray on sun screen. My poor step-son got really badly burned on his back one year because his day-camp counselor sprayed him in stripes. His poor back looked like a zebra! Great photos! Those sunset pictures are enchanting. Glad your vacation went well!

    1. I think the only way to get a good application with the spray is the spray into your hand and then wipe on!

    1. I have never been interested in going to Florida due to the heat & humidity. Same thing with Hawaii & Texas, but I lived in both. This trip was so refreshing! I would not want to be there in the summer.

  8. Welcome back, Diana! So glad that you had such a great vacation. Those sunsets are beautiful. It's hard to believe someone would abandon such a sand castle work of art...but how do you guard it? I guess you don't!

  10. Looks like you had an amazing time! I bet you enjoyed the warm Florida weather. Ha, it isn't very warm right now. I live in South Florida and we had to turn on the heat last night!

Hope you have a good evening and weekend.
