Oscar Watch

It's time to roll out the red carpet because the Oscars are this weekend. Hollywood is all abuzz over who is going to win and what the stars will be wearing. I enjoy seeing reviews of the best & worst dressed. Here is who I am going to be keeping an eye on.

Last year was a first for Jessica Chastain and she showed up in a gorgeous Alexander McQueen black and gold gown. I would have loved to see it up close. This year she's nominated for Zero Dark Thirty. Dark makes me think of black. Could she wear that color again? She won the Golden Glove, but will she win the Oscar? Will she be a winner on the red carpet?

Another 2012 nominee from The Help that didn't make a positive impression with her Vera Wang designed dress was Viola Davis. The color was fantastic, but it was too tight on her bust and had a funky ruffle.

Berenice Bejo should have worn a bold green like Viola Davis did as opposed to her sheer mint Elie Saab gown. Her true beauty just didn't show through.

My most favorite gown from last year was Michelle Williams in the coral strapless Louis Vuitton gown. She might not have won the trophy, but her dress was tops in my book.

I think it would be fun to go to an awards show. I don't just mean as a spectator, but a participant. I have no idea what I would be nominated for, but I could just imagine myself in a fantastic gown. I did a little searching and came across MissesDressy Formal Evening Dress Collection. I looked through their selection and came up with 3 that I would love to wear on the red carpet. While I am dreaming, I'll just believe that I am thin enough to fit in each of these dresses.

I absolutely love this Mac Duggal Couture gown. The sequined botice is gorgeous and I just love the floral skirt and sheer overlay. I would spend a lot of time holding the overlay out as I went down the carpet.
Here is a similar gown by the same designer, although I would get it in blue.
And if either of those didn't fit right, I'd choose this amazing Jovani gown. Simply gorgeous!
Do you ever imagine yourself in the gowns of people at award shows? What would your gown look like? Not sure what kind of hits or misses we will see tomorrow night, but let's hope that James Franco doesn't show up in a gown like he did in 2011!

  1. I guess I never pictured myself on the red carpet, but when I was about 9 or 10 and we'd watch the pageant, I thought for sure someday I'd be Miss America. Of course, there was no internet to go dress shopping, but I did practice my walk - asking my sisters for constructive criticism! Alas! My dream never came true!

Do they even sing that song when the new girl is crowned anymore?

  3. LOVE the Jovani gown. Deep royal blue is one of my favorites. We're planning a watch tonight like the Super Bowl...primarily for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of James Bond. I don't ever remember all of them appearing anywhere together, do you? It'll be fun. Sinea from Ducks ‘n a Row

  4. Hi Diana! Thanks for linking up with my NO RULES Party! I haven't been very creative lately so I have nothing "pinnable" to share, but hopefully next week I will!

I'm probably going to watch the Oscars tonight, or at least part of it. I also still remember Michelle William's dress last year because I loved it too.

Hope your having a great weekend :)
