My garden is still growing, but not producing a lot. I harvested the beets way too early. We did pick this beauty of a squash the other day and then grilled it. YUM! I wish it was as big as this picture looks because it was so good!
I thought I had some regular sized tomatoes growing, but it turns out they are cherry tomatoes. I got the plant from a friend so I had no idea. Cherry & grape tomatoes are good, but I enjoy regular tomatoes much more. Now I am not so sad if they are ready for picking while we are on vacation.
If I look at all the work I have put into the garden I am a little disappointed, but if I remember that it was all an experiment then I feel like I've done a good job! I will start my garden earlier next year and be more selective on what plants I pick. My gherkins & bean plants are growing like crazy...not sure if either will produce anything!

It's just been a horrible year for plants. I'm gonna tear out my pots of flowers before we go on vacation. They look horrible. No use making somebody water almost-dead flowers. Ugh. They are depressing to look at.
