Disney World Anyone?

Friday, February 26, 2010

Hey...my son is going to Disney World with band in a few weeks and I need some suggestions on something. Please email me if you know a lot about DW and are willing to give me a suggestion. (I know this is not much info to go on, but I am sure my teen would prefer that I not broadcast his biz on my blog!)

Reality/TV Wrap: Week 2

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Survivor~ Back when I heard that it was going to be heroes vs. villains I wasn't impressed at all. I saw who was in the cast and was turned off. I had no interest in seeing many of these yahoos again. Well, I was wrong. This season is FANTASTIC! The wheels have fallen off the hero cart and they are just ripping each other apart.

The whole Rob getting injured was a bit over the top. He didn't fall all dramatically like they made it look. He was laying there with a tshirt or something under his head. But the guy was in BAD shape! All his weird mutterings...him and Jeff being all palsies. I didn't care for it, but Rob redeemed himself when he said that he had a case of cry-baby-itis! I've never liked Rob...hated him the first 2 go rounds...hated him on Amazing Race, but there is something about this season that I am enjoying. Jeff's review of the cast that I linked before it started said that Rob had a chance to win...and I believe it. He's an animal because after his little visit with medical, he came back and rocked the challenge. He was hoisting that cube up by himself and I thought he was going to collapse and get squished. He helped lead the villians to victory...again.

OK...heroes. They were pathetic on the challenge. EGOS is right! JT had done it before and he just didn't seem to lead them very well. Yes...Stephanie and everyone was yelling, but he certainly didn't get them to follow very well. While he's always been strong and held his own, he's never been very vocal. And something just snapped in James' head. Blaming it all on Stephanie and going on and on and on and on about how she was the reason her tribe lost in her first season. I thought there was some validity to his point the first time he said it...but he could not SHUT up about it. He probably said it way more than the camera showed. I really wasn't sure which way Cirie & Candice were going to go and I was surprised at first...but it does make sense. Align with the crazy people...and James is CRAZY. They can just lay low and let all the attention be on James and not worry. If for some reason the heroes start winning, then they are still aligned with the crazies and would look good in the end.

Tonight it looks like Pavarti & Jerri go at it, which should be VERY interesting!! I don't think I am even going to guess what I think will happen, who will win immunity, and who will go home. I'll just sit back and enjoy. (Band concert again tonight...so we'll have to DVR it!)
Check out this very good & funny recap/review of the episode: Entertainment Weekly

Amazing Race~ This editing on this 2nd episode was SOOO much better. It was easier to follow along. I have to take back my thoughts and comments on the cowboys. They are much smarter than I thought. The only thing I negative I have to say about them is what is up with the plastic covers for the cowboy hats? Seriously? I know that team tri-granny was on the last bus, but they were just slow. If they somehow had passed up the (lame) detectives...they would continue to be bottom feeders and be out...so it's good it just happened now. I think that the detectives will continue to scrounge for shellfish and be out SOON! The decision that Carol/Brandy made to align with Joe/Heidi was a good one and both teams finished high. Next week's previews look like Carol & Brandy have a HUGE DIVA lovers spat, which might be the beginning of their demise. I think that Joe/Heidi will do good in the long run.
OK...so you are huge fan of Amazing Race and you decide to apply to be on the show. Don't you think you'd lean from other's mistakes? NO! It amazes me that teams know they are going to have to drive themselves and they can't drive a standard transmission. Really? Not only that...they got lost. Come on Dan & Jordan. I thought you were so funny in episode one. You won't be around much longer if you can't find drive your way out of a paper bag!

I haven't blogged since Friday?

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

That is truly Wii-diculous! I am feeling better. (Generic) Zyrtec is my new best friend. I am breathing easy. Yesterday I was full of energy, but I am feeling sluggish this morning. The only caffeine we have in the house is (wimpy) tea! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I have another new best friend. It's my new Waterpik. I've always wanted one and I finally splurged. I've been doing very good with flossing, but that seems to allow some foods to get between my teeth even more. I have a few areas in my mouth that were BUGGING me, so I got the Waterpik. So far I LOVE IT! My mouth feels so clean and no junk stuck between my teeth. It's sooo messy to use, but I'm happy to wipe up afterward. (I am not much into cleaning...so you know I've got to love this thing!

The weekend seemed pretty long...must have been because I kept busy. I watched a lot of the Olympics, did some work for clients, got some things organized around here, and threw an online birthday party for my business. I put up a large chat window on my blog and we had lots of fun. There was calorie-free drinks, appetizers, and cake. LOL! We chatted and played some games. People grumbled that the games were challenging...but I am not just going to give out a prize for free! LOL! I had the final giveaway of February up with is a custom extreme blog makeover. Click here to enter.

It's very interesting how my client load for my business ebbs and flows. I had a tough time with allergies last week and just didn't have it in me to do a lot of work. I ended up not having a demanding work load. Now I am better and my waiting list is building again. I will be taking 5 weeks off over the summer to go to Alaska, which will kill my biz, but I bet it will build up steadily after we return. It's strange how it all works out!

I need to get my Reality Wrap written up. Week 2 of Survivor was not as good as week 1, but Amazing Race week 2 was a lot better. I'll probably post my review on Thursday!

Hope all is well with you and your families! I know I have some new followers as I've been joining other blogs through MBC. I appreciate all the follows and welcome the new ones. Have a great week!

Wii-diculous Wii-cap

Friday, February 19, 2010

My allergies are TOTALLY out of control and my exercise has been suffering. I only did 4 days on the Wii this past wiik. I did do 45 mins each of those days, but they were mostly balance or lower impact games. I think I only walked the dog once this past week to. I did change allergy meds today from Claritin to Zyrtec, so I hope that does the trick. I had a sore throat for many days, which I now know was allergies! UGH! Hopefully this next wiik will go better!

Reality Wrap Week 1 of the New Season

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Double Whammy~ Both Survivor & Amazing Race started in the same week. Love it!

Survivor~ Oh man! Do I have lots to say about Survivor! The season sure began with a bang! I love how Jeff critiqued the teams and asked all sorts of questions as soon as they got to Survivor island. No mercy and he sure called people OUT! I am surprised we didn't hear from a few more villians. I am sure that Jeff had more questions that just weren't aired. And then to have a challenge from the get go! What a challenge...I am sure there were moves that would have been considered illegal in other seasons. Pavarti dislocating Stefanie's shoulder? WOW! I had to rewatch to see who did it. Jeff did tell Russell to play fair with Tom, but nothing was really being enforced. And did you see the way that Coach man-handled Colby? I love how they cut to Tyson making comments about how Colby's lost all masculinity now. Then the Sugar-Candice/Courtney-Sandra match up. That was brutal...Sandra undid Sugar's bra and she just got up, grabbed the bag, scored the point, and gave Sandra a few choice gestures. LOL!And then the last group...did you see Tyson's undies? LOL!!! There was really no contest with that group...James ownage! Rupert broke his toe? BRUTAL! Russell was smirking right away with the loss! It was about this point when I realize it was a 2 hour episode. I had no idea, but they needed every minute of it!

Side note~ When did bikinis with ruffles get back in style? Brings back memories of when I was that age and had little ruffly bathing suits. They seem to feminine for Stefanie!

Various Opinions~ Chickens...really? How many of you think those were planted? Seriously...chickens? This is Survivor!! Colby has become such an OLD man! And he's so dumb...asking Candice about the others? Didn't he ever watch? I don't think he was playing dumb with her...I think he truly is dumb! And Jerri & Coach...JERRI & COACH! OMG...I can't decide if I am discusted or if they are the PERFECT couple. I just looked at their bios and they are the same age. Coach is only 38? Really? I thought he was OLDER! Rob making fire...I don't like him, but I can respect that. Funny that he was going crazy by the other's laziness! Of course, Coach is all bromancing on Rob...so maybe Jerri doesn't have a snuggle buddy afterall! Ironic that Jerri's puppet from season 2 is now married to Rob? LOL! Sugar...outside of saving the first challenge, she was pretty pathetic and deserved to go home.

Who do I guess will win. That's a tough one... How about who won't win~ Coach, Rupert, Pavarti, Tom, JT, Amanda, Randy, Colby, Sandra, Stefanie, Rob, and Jerri. I think a female wins, so that narrows it down to Cirie, Candice, Courtney, or Danielle. So of these...Courtney? But I am not putting any stock in this. Overall I want Tyson & Cirie to stick around cause they have the best confessionals. I like Cirie, Russell, and surprisingly James. I was glad that Randy (who I despise most of all) didn't say much!

The initial preview of next week looked like Rob's injury was pretty serious. But further previews make it look like he's delirious from being dehydrated. Will he leave the game? I'm not so sure!

Overall, I really *LOVED* this first episode and I thought I was going to be turned off by season 20. It's going to be VERY entertaining! What did you think????

Amazing Race~ Once again I am overwhelmed by so many teams. I've been so busy lately that I didn't watch any previews or look up any teams before it started. So I am a bit lost. I love how Jordan recognized the Miss Teen contestant and recited her speech. Caite insisted that she's not as dumb as she was in that speech, but even though they did well on the leg...she will have to convince me otherwise. The cowboys were SOOO dumb to change ALL their money. Really? And then they came in 3rd place? We know the clothes line challenge was tough, but the painting one must have been tougher than they showed. They showed the coach & daughter paint the wrong place and I don't remember them showing them paint the right place...but all of a sudden they were at the mat. And the detectives predicting they will win every leg? I predict they won't win ANY legs. I don't really remember much about any other teams. Not the strongest contestants overall...but it's The Amazing Race...so I will watch and enjoy!

Still too many teams to talk about Biggest Loser and it's on a break during the Olympics.

Thoughts on Survivor & AR?

Felt Fortune Cookie Craft

Monday, February 15, 2010

Instead of exchanging valentines at school, they do a trade fair at son's school. The kids brought in handmade items and traded with each other. No food items were allowed, but we came up with the idea of making felt fortune cookies. I found some adorable printable CNY Chinese take out boxes by Kate Hadfield and we printed out and assembled tiger boxes to put the fortune cookies in. Parker sold out very quickly at the trade fair.

First we traced circles onto felt and cut them out. Then we printed & cut the boxes, seals for top of boxes, & the fortunes. Then we folded & hot glued the fortune cookies.
Then we put the finishing touches on the boxes, put a fortune cookie in each box (we used 6" circles, so they were pretty big!), and added a seal to the top of the boxes.

Wishing you...

Survivor Starts 2Nite

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Hey all you Survivor fans...it's finally here. Survivor: Villians vs. Heros...or as I call it Egos vs. Entitlement. If you haven't seen Jeff's assessment of the cast you should check it out. It's 10+ minutes, but well worth the time!!

Reality Wrap will start next week as Amazing Race starts on Sunday!!

Wii-kly Wii-cap!

Have you been healthy this week? I slid a little!! First off, wii had a VERY busy weekend. Parties on Saturday & Sunday. I skipped the Wii both days. Bad me! I fully expected to get yelled at when I hopped back on, but it was pretty painless. I did gain back 2 lbs, but that's what I get for overeating. So I only worked out 4 instead of 6 days. I did do 45 mins each of those days, so my Fit Bank has a total of 13:11 in it. On Sunday we took an extra long walk with our dog, so I guess I am on track with overall exercise this past week. My fav this week has continued to be Rhythm Parade. I got a nearly perfect score yesterday when I only had 4 misses. I am still on advanced level. I've been doing the (Wipe Out style) Obstacle Course and the flying chicken one a lot too. I tried out the juggling one...although my Mii is scary as a clown!
Running with my daughter.

A big thumbs down! Boost Mobile SUCKS!

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Do you even feel like you flush $$ down the toilet? I did that a few months ago when I got a Boost Mobile phone. Boost purchases old phones that are past their warranty and they are just a piece of crap!! I got my phone a few months ago and had troubles from the get-go. No help from Boost, so I had to send it back to the manufacturer. Piece of dung phone...too bad, so sad! Boost SUCKS! Motorola i465 Clutch SUCKS! Boost Mobile is supposed to have a big fancy ad during the Super Bowl tomorrow (a take off of the Super Bowl shuffle) and I hope it is bad and that no one gets their service! I am just thankful I wasn't in a contract with Boost!!!

A Whine!

Friday, February 5, 2010

I am cold...I have been for several days. I am tired of being chilly and I am letting myself complain. I don't have spring fever per se, I am just tired of feeling cold! The past week has been a little warmer outside (lower 30s) as compared to some very cold weather earlier this winter. We are still walking our dog for 30 mins or so each night...and we really bundle up. That doesn't really bother me because I wear sooo many warm layers. I'm just cold in my house. About 10 days ago our whimpy space heater that sat not too far from me started dripping oil. We didn't think that it was all that powerful in the first place, but I have been SOOO chilly since then. You'd think that with all my Wii-Fitting that I'd be warm. Maybe I'm losing some of my blubber layer and I just can't stay warm.

OK...I'll get over my frigid self, put on an extra sweatshirt, and shut-up now!

Do you think I'll warm up if I give this blog a bright & cheery new look?

Wii-kly Wii-cap!

Thursday, February 4, 2010

It's Wiik 2 and I'm still on the Wii Fit bandwagon! My overall workout time is now 10:14, which means I bronzed my Fit Bank for going over the 10 hour mark!I averaged 48.2 minutes over the 6 days that I worked out this week. A little less than last week, but I am continuing to see results. I am down about 3 pounds and my clothes are so tight. I reached a breaking point again on Sunday as I tried to conquer Expert level of Island Biking, so I'm making a break from from it. My current favorite is Rhythm Parade and here is my results from Advanced level.
The rest of the family has pretty much stopped using Wii Fit, so their Miis are sleeping at Wii Fit Plaza.
