How is your new year going?

It's a little over a week into the new year and I am wondering how people's resolutions/goals/focuses or whatever you might call it are going. We declared 2010 as the year of gratitude and I haven't really put anything into practice at all. I am trying not to complain...but I am finding myself complaining about people complaining. LOL!
My other 'focus' is to be healthier and trim down. I feel like I gained a lot of weight in 2009 and my clothes are so tight.

I am happy to report that I've been exercising everyday. DH & I have been walking about 35-60 minutes a day...out in the frigid temps. Today we walked an hour and had several spots along our path that hadn't been plowed at all. That is a lot of work. Trying to keep warm when the wind chill is nine below zero is a lot of work too. We are both very tired this evening.
I've been doing good with my eats too. I haven't been overeating and have avoided junk. I did have a few bites of cheesecake one day and I felt sick afterward. I think my body is adjusting well. I've really increased my fluid intake which I know is an important component of losing weight. I think I've shrunk my tummy a little bit because I am feeling full sooner.

How are your plans for the new year going? Are you able to stick to your goals?

  1. I am trying not to complain and be positive but I failed today :-)

    Maybe tomorrow will be better.

  2. So far, so good, for me. I, too, have rejoined the dieting bandwagon this year. I stuck to my caloric intake this week, got in 5 1 hour workouts, and have succeeded in kicking the soda habit AND the staying up way too late habit. So...yay! Here's hoping I can keep it up! :)


    PS: I LOVE your resolution to be positive. The main reason I left Facebook recently was because everyone's constant complaining was starting to bring me down!! I strive to be positive everyday!

  4. Great job keeping with the exercising - something I've been terribly lax at this new year.

    I've decided to tackle one goal each week that I've been meaning to do. So far I've accomplished 2/2! Hopefully that trend will continue.
