Day 1 of Program

I do not plan on updating my progress of the walking program each day, but I wanted to let you know about day 1. Got up at 7am and did a speed walk for an hour. OMG~ I was so uncomfortable when I finished. My legs were so ichy and on fire. It was driving me nuts! I was about to jump out of my skin. I know it will get better as I get further into the program. I wonder if there is anything I can do to help avoid or deal with that firey itchiness! I just googled it an apparently it's a condition called Exercise Urticaria. Have you experienced it? What did you do to deal with it??

  2. Good for you! I also get the itchy legs and just try my best not to scratch but do a lot of rubbing.

  3. I have that happen to me too - the itching makes me almost hysterical/panicky. I thought I had read that it had to do with histamines being released during exercise. Taking an anti-histamine might help. The more my body got used to exercising the less often it occurred.

  4. OK...Day 2 was much better. I wore some lightweight capris so the part of my legs that itched yesterday were covered. I didn't have the itchy sensation today, but I didn't work at a fast rate either. My feet were killing me today. I've rested & soaked them today.
