13 Is The New 18 Book Review

I recently read 13 Is the New 18. It's a collection of funny stories/antedotes of a mom's trials and tribulations of a mother of a 13 year old boy. I found myself relating to the book on many levels as I have been struggling to get along and understand my teen son. Beth's sarcasm and wit was very entertaining. One of my favorite parts of the book was a recount of a family vacation out west. In true teen style, her son was no impressed with Grand Canyon. I actually hiked down to Havasupi Canyon with girl scouts when I was about that age. I don't remember being so turned off by family trips, but I would guess my dad could recount some resistance from me. We haven't had a family trip in several years, but I can imagine my teen being unimpressed by all the sites we would see on a trip.

13 Is the New 18 is by Beth Harpaz and was published by Crown Publishers. ISBN 978-0-307-39641-9. You can get it at Amazon.
