Poll Results
Last week's poll was about resolutions. 4 people said they are making a resolution and plan on keeping it, 4 said they don't make resolutions, and 1 response each to yes, but I won't keep it and why bother (which was me!!! LOL!)
New poll about emergency surgery is up. Feel free to elaborate on your response in the comments of this post.

Yes, I did. A coworker poked and detached my retina. After a week of intense (like stub your toe in a darkened room pain every time I moved my head) headaches I managed to see a specialist. At 8am that morning I walked into the eye dr. so hecould have a look at me. By 840am he had scheduled me an appointment with the surgeon, and his secretary had taken away my morning coffee (just in case). At 1130am I was at the surgeon 90 miles away, who confirmed that yes I needed surgery. at 314pm I was being told to count backward nd the lights went out.
Sometime later, I came to and kne that there were fish hooks stuck in my eyelids.
for the next two weeks I had to do everything with my head down...to avoid cataracts. It was...not a pleasant experience.
My eyesight changed dramatically. My right eye has now got twice the perscription it once did. I was told recently that it is in the top three percent...tht is only three percent of the population has as strong or a stronger persciption. yay.
on the bright side, my vision IS 20/20 with my contacts on.
That should read the coworker poked me in the eye with a metal tube and detache my retina.
I had 2 D&C's and 2 cryo-ablation procedures (the uterian wall is frozen in an effort to slow down or stop menstruation.) 6 months after the last set of procedures I began having terrible abdominal and lower back pain. 2 trips to the ER, 2 CT scans, a doctor appointment and finally a simple ultrasound diagnosed the problem. Scar tissue from all those procedures closed off my uterus and when my body decided it was that time of the month, everything got trapped, causing the pain. As soon as doctors determined that was the cause I was rushed to surgery to have my uterus punctured to release the pressure. I was later scheduled for a hysterectomy.
I have had surgery twice once to remove my tonsils when I was about 2. I only had about 10 percent of my hearing because of all my ear infections. Luckily that was all reversed. Then when I was 16 I had my wisdom teeth removed. They put me completely out which I don't think they do anymore.
I hope that is all because I don't do well with anesthesia, I don’t want to wake up and apparently scare the doctors but I think I just need a good rest.
