Eric is home. I am tired!!

It's 3:10pm and we are all home. Eric is doing well. His shoulders hurt in more than anything (from sleeping a funky position) I slept on and off from 2am to 8am, but I am fairly tired. Eric didn't sleep a lot but his perky. He ate regular food for lunch and is fine. Dori is napping now. I should join her. I am glad the kids don't have school tomorrow. But Tues will be a rude awakening! I have yet to get a full night's sleep in 2009!

We didn't get to keep his appendix, but I do have pics! lol!

I must say that I am proud of the way we handled all of this. Eric went to the ER and noon and I stayed home with the kids. I didn't fret and wasn't really worried about him at all. I knew he was where he needed to be if something was wrong. He just hung out there all day and checked in with us at 5:30 with the strong suspicion of appendix. The CT scan confirmed it, but there was no rupture. When he called around 9pm to tell me that surgery was happening, I gathered stuff to take, got the kids ready for bed, tucked them into our bed, and took off. My sis (who lives close) and a neighbor knew what was going on and Jake is 15 yrs old, so we felt comfortable leaving the kids in bed. Eric was calm when I showed up at 10pm. I just went with the flow, but was happy to get enough of a connections to chat with some friends via YIM while Eric was in surgery. Outside of being TIRED, it doesn't really feel like anything special happened. I think others are more concerned than we are. People were surprised to see us at church, but the kids wanted to go to Sunday School and Parker was an acolyte. I think the kids weren't worried about Daddy because we were so relaxed about it.

  10. I'm glad he's home and everything went fine! I really admire the 'calmness' of your whole ordeal - I'm sure that's exactly why the kids weren't all freaked out...good job! ;) Wish my hubby would take lessons from your hubby on that mode... (grin!)

Hope you're sleeping soundly and getting some much needed rest as I type this... ((HUGZ!))

  12. Glad it all went well and that he's home recovering now. Had you been through it all before? That might make a difference. It really is a rather routine procedure as it's done so often.
