Schools Closed!

It doesn't look horrible out (you know cause my little corner on the world is accurate!) but there is a pretty coating of ice on trees. School is closed today. I was hoping it wouldn't be because today was to be the last day of the semester and the HS had finals. When I went to tell Jake that he could stay in bed cause there is no school he was mad. Why? Can he was supposed to get his driver's permit today! Now finals will be Jan 6. I can't imagine that many of the kids will do well with a 2.5 week break. Eric just left to trudge into work. I can hear the bus now (he takes public transit) so he didn't have to wait outside long at all. The bus stop is at the corner (a few houses down). It's a discretionary day and people are allowed to work from home, but he knows no one else will show up and with the state of hurt the state is in he wants to look good cause lay offs could be coming!

  1. School's closed...That's both good and bad. Kids in the house all day. Putting off finals until after Christmas, that can't be good.
No driver's permit. That really stinks. Kids live for that stuff.

Enjoy the day, whatever you all do.

  2. It's pretty messy in my part of the world too. (Michigan) We received 12 inches in our area today, and I hear there are few more storms coming this weekend. Uggg!! I'm not a big fan of shoveling. LOL!!! Thanks so much for your kind words regarding my little one's eye surgery. We're keeping our fingers crossed ans staying positive.

  3. It's nasty here too. We got at least 1/2 inch of ice. Our kids will have to finish their finals on the 6th as well. No fun!
