Party Prep

Hi! It's nearly 12:30 and I've been prepping for the party all morning. I made fudge (1/2 covered with Andes mints), candy coated popcorn, and pretzels hand dipped in chocolate. I've also wrapped white elephant gifts, prepped gift bags for the kids, counted the candies in the 'guess the candy' (win the jar) game for the kids, wrapped the 'musical gift' game (the kids pass the gift around and when the music stops the kid gets to unwrap a layer which has a few pieces of candy...and they keep unwrapping til a kid gets the final gift), and did a few other things. Now I am just eating lunch and relaxing for a few minutes. My feet are a little sore which reminds me that I need to wear supportive shoes today. (We usually don't wear shoes inside our house.)

After this break I need to finish getting chairs in place (and determine if we need to borrow more), clear toys out, clear room in our entry way for people to hang coats, clear off kitchen counters, pull down & wash off the Christmas plates (which we got in Malaysia for cheap!), make the meatballs, straighten Dori's room, wipe down bathrooms, shower & shine, and then around 5:45 start the final party prep.

This weekend I plan on putting up recipes from the party, verifying entries into the penguin outfit giveaway, and posting pics.

  2. I looked through your blogs on the party...what fun you all had! The treats you made look awesome. I am loving the game you mentioned where the kids pass around the gift. That is definitely one to remember for future parties!
