Dryer Saga Continues
A few weeks ago Eric changed the blown fuse on our dryer. We suspected that the lint built up in our new dryer vent cover (that was put on when we had the siding put on the house...and it's like a screen on the inside) and caused it to overheat. We got the new part of eBay for less than $9 shipped and Eric had it fixed in about 5 mins. Well...today it stopped heating again. We've had this dryer for nearly 15 years and it's made 4 moves. It's not the dryer vent this time, so something else is causing it to (overheat and) blow the fuse. The fuse is a good thing...keeps it from overheating and starting a fire! We've never had any issues with it, but we just didn't want to keep trouble shooting. So tonight as we were out at Sears in Eric's little beater truck to pick up the elliptical machine I ordered on Black Friday, we went over to appliances to see how much they cost. We are now the proud owners of a (almost) new dryer. It was $432 marked down to $271. It was marked as used, but all the stickers were still in tact (including on the inside of the dryer) and it had a scratch on top. I am happy to take a scratch for that big of a savings. We just loaded up the truck with both the elliptical and the dryer and drove home slowly in the snow.

Woo hoo! Merry Christmas a little early. Enjoy your new dryer. Sometimes having a new appliance can make even the mundane chores seem "fun".
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the dryer problem is resolved. We got our set the same way - never used but have some cosmetic damage.
