Monday Recap
Today was a busy day! I spent about 5 hours shopping with Dori. We had to return some things and search for some others. The reality that I have been lazy and have gained weight in recent months has set it. Not only am I really tired from the day, I was disgusted when I looked in the mirror in the dressing room. Before I tried on black cardigans (yup...still searching for the perfect one!) I did take a 3o min walk at the mall. Lots of people get their exercise there. Afterward I stopped into Sears and tried out Elliptical machines. I found one that I liked, but I really need Eric to try it out too. I don't want to invest money into something that we don't use. I'd be certain to get lots of use out of it if we mounted this laptop on it, but we will most likely put it in front of a TV. Our big holiday party (that about 50 people come to) is coming up...so maybe we should wait to get something after that. Not sure where we'd store it during a party...which makes me wonder if we'd use it.....we barely fit 50 people in as it is.
I digress...I also bought 2 of those tubes of sand you stick in the back of a pick-up during the winter to keep it from sliding all over the place, and they are 70 pounds each. I came up with this brillant idea to put them on the outside of a drafty door. I figured they'd help block the draft. I am a little sore from lifting. Probably not the best thing to do the day after giving blood.
We had Turkey Pot Pie, which turned out PERFECT for dinner. I put the shelf in the oven down a little bit and the bottom crust was nice and brown! I am going to do that for any pies I make from now on.
Last week's poll was on how long did people wait to vote. I lost the poll when I upgraded the blog, but I do remember about 20 people voted and about 90% had no wait at all. I'll go post my new poll for the week now. It's a question about the economy and holiday shopping.
Speaking about shopping, I just created this graphic for Robin tonight. She's having a fundraiser raffle to raise funds for Mia Hope's adoption from China. The raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 and you get a change to win a $500 gift card to either ToysRUs, Gymboree, or Target (your choice). Click the blinkie for more information.

The 2nd place prize is this adorable holiday outfit.

ReplyDeleteI have a Sole elliptical machine (got it online) and love it, though I don't use it nearly often enough.
