Guess Where I Am?!
Polling place? Library? Shopping? NO!
Right now I am sitting in a laundromat. Yes, a laundromat. Yesterday when I went to put Dori's sheets & blankets into the dryer I found the previous load damp in the dryer. I thought that I just forgot to turn on the dryer...cause I am forgetful like that. Well, a few hours later when it was nearing bedtime and I realized that Dori's sheets were still wet, I sent Eric down to change the load. He yelled up that the dryer clothes were still wet. Hum...that means that our dryer isn't heating!! Grrr! So we put different sheets and blankie on Dori's bed (which she was thrilled with) and now I am here drying the last 2 loads. Actually I hung several items up to air dry, so I just have 1 big load drying now.
OMG...there is a couple sitting a little bit in front of me who seem to be confusing the laundromat for a hotel room. ICK!
OK...so this reminds me of one of the last times I was at a laundromat. It was about 14 years ago and there was a car race on the radio. It was blaring! It was so strange because the broadcast of the cars zooming by only came through one speaker at a time (which were spread around the corners of the place) and I felt like I was at the race. It made me sort of dizzy (insert your own comments here)!! Needless to say, we were off to Sears to buy a washer & dryer that weekend.
WOW...2 quarters and about 12 mins later my stuff is dry! Honey...if we are unable to fix our dryer and need a new one...can we please get one of these big commercial ones? Our laundry room is big enough! Just think of all the money we'd save by not coming to the laundromat and stuffing the machine with quarters.
Oh...I forgot. That's only once every 14 years.
Never mind!
(OK...I am out of here...dry clothes and the PDA couple is back from their smoking break! Library time!!)

I went through this over the summer. On the same day that my a/c died. Yes, it was in the 90's outside.
ReplyDeleteUGH, that stinks!!!
ReplyDeleteWe went months with a broken dryer last summer but I think its getting too cold for you to hang out your clothes every day...unless everyone likes frozen skivies! LOL
That is a bummer, I hate the laundromat. I know our washer and dryer are on thier last legs but I am holding out as long as possible. We have better things to spend our money on, LOL.
