Late Friday Post

It's been a busy day. I left around noon to do some shopping. I had to exchange the jeans I got for Parker the other day for a smaller size, pick up a dress shirt for Jake, get a bday gift for a friend's 50th that we are going to tomorrow, and a few other items. We picked up Park on the way home, had a few minutes to unload the goods, check messages, and then we headed out for the HS homecoming parade. We walked along with the parade and Parker, a friend, and Dori got lots of candy. Neighbor kids came over to play when we got back home, so we just hung out outside. Then it was time for dinner, had a few minutes to relax, and then went to the homecoming football game. The home team won, but better than that the band sounded GREAT! Parker ran around with friends and Dori had a lot of fun goofing around with us. We are all WIDE awake now, but we need to head to bed soon. Tomorrow Jake & I are selling concessions (as a fundraiser for the youth group) at the college stadium. That will be a long day on our feet. And then there is the bday party tomorrow evening.

Our dinner was OK. All I did was cut up some carrots and put them in the bottom of the crock pot, put some chicken on top (I always use IGF boneless/skinless breasts), and then poured a bottle of teriyaki sauce mixed with water on top. We served it over white rice. It was good, but pretty salty. I made the mistake of NOT getting the low sodium version. And a little corn starch to thicken up the sauce would have been good.

Tomorrow I am taking guacamole to the party. I'm making my quick version which is just avocado, salsa, and some sour cream. After I mix it up I put in one of the pits, which helps keep it from getting brown.
